ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY
Khaliq Alizada is Figurative and imaginative artist.
He portraits the real life moments to express his
feelings, but it is more of exploring the moments
which avert general attention.
Alizada was born in ancient province of Afghanistan,
Ghazni. Residing in Birmingham, Great Britain.
As interested in art from an early childhood, his
artistic talent was found when he was in school where
he showed his skills through drawing. He loved
drawing from the nature, as he captured the scene
whilst walking in the wild. Occasionally drew faces
of family members, but there were sometimes
discouragement from some family member that earning
from drawing would be impossible to feed the family.
Arts are not considered a serious skill but it is
devalued against money. Feeling and emotions are
suppressed, Portraits are forbidden because it is
symbolized as an evil.
Due to lack of security and future uncertainty he
took the risk to migrate to Europe via a treacherous
rout for prosperous future. Once arrived to UK after
a perilous journey, again found an opportunity to
pursue his passion for arts.
Once settled in the UK, he started learning from life
in the west. Found life very interesting and important
about the level of freedom and security that people
possess on freedom of expression, which was beyond the
imagination of Alizada. He then thought about women back
at home where their feelings are suppressed.
Women in Afghanistan are imprisoned in Burqa
separating them from rest of the world, their basic
rights are snatched and banned from all walk of life.
It is where he felt he could put afghan women’s life
in contrast with western women and focused to show
the reality by portraying intriguing facts about
them to the rest of the world. His art resembles the
dark side of women’s life in Afghanistan, Women are
victim of all sort of evils and kept deprive from
education as an excuse to protect their identity.
On the other hand, revealing the truth of traditional
and male dominating society.
In his art, he also want to show the viewer by choosing
dramatic and intensive colours by applying dark and light
compositions on his canvas, so that the viewers can feel
the depth of story. He chooses his colours very carefully
as he find it very essential for showing his feelings in
arts, because every colour and every brush stroke
symbolizes different Idea.
Khaliq Alizada is not only a painter but he tries to
illustrate his emotion and feelings through his
artistic skills. He picks up brush for the captured
moment that worth’s attention.
